The Bigger Perspective

“We must never stop throwing rocks in the water, because what few people understand is that when we have thrown enough we have thrown a whole mountain.”

When I was flying back to Sweden from Los Angeles this summer I was taken aback by the magnificent view we had, passing over the mountains. Even though I am extremely afraid of flying, I have to admit that doing so reminded me that sometimes, we need to shift perspective. When we stand on the ground we see everything from a human perspective, but up there - the mountains that seemed so high suddenly look tiny from the sky.

During the flight I was thinking about all the mountains we face in our life and what a difference it makes if we are able to remember that we can zoom out - in to a heavenly perspective that God want us to see.

Imagine how easy it’d be to do things for Jesus in school or at university, to accept challenges and take steps in our faith, if we knew from the beginning that it will turn out great. If God would send us a confirmation email that the things we do matter and that we will reach the mountain top. Unfortunately there is no mention about any confirmation emails in the Bible… But in Marc 11:23 Jesus says that a person that believes, shall tell mountains to rise and throw them self in the sea. Jesus talks about believing for the impossible! What seems impossible to man is possible with God! What you feel is impossible in your life is possible with God!

A couple of years ago, a close relative of mine was unfortunately seriously ill, and during that time he shared a vision he had recieved. He saw a person standing on a river bank, throwing rocks in the water. People passing by thought it was a waste of time to stand there and said “Why does it matter that you are standing here and throwing rocks?” But then he said “We must never stop throwing rocks in the water, because what few people understand is that when we have thrown enough we have thrown a whole mountain.”

So. When you are thinking of if it will matter if you give that Bible to a friend - give it. It is your rock. When the prayers you pray feels like they are unanswered - keep praying. Throw your rock! When you want to give up your New Generation group - hold fast. Throw your rock! When you’re in the midst of the storm - throw! In the middle of the challenge - throw! In the middle of the dream - throw! And ask God to remind you of his heavenly perspective everytime you throw. You and your New Generation group are moving mountains! Everyday, rock after rock.
