Spread Love

1 Joh 4:10,19
“This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins… We love because he first loved us.” (NIV)

We are loved by God and therefore we can love others. As we can read in the Bible, God loves us so much so he sent his own son to die for our sins. Everything he does is out of love, so it’s only fair that we spread his love to the people around us.

But how can we spread love? It doesn’t always have to be something big. Sometimes a hug, a compliment or a smile can make someone’s day. So why not take the opportunity of these theme days that are coming up!

What if this is the only time your friend or class gets to hear about God’s love? What if this is the only time your friend feels loved and appreciated by someone?Let’s take the opportunity and spread love to our schools/uni!

  • 21 January - Hug day
Give a hug to someone in the hallway or make a hug square by using some duct tape. Write hug on the tape and hug anyone that stands in the square. It’s actually a New Generation group at a school in Sweden that came up with this idea because they felt that their school needed more love. So they decided to make a hug square to share love to their classmates and this also made it easier for them to start a conversation about their faith

  • 14 February - Valentine’s Day
This is a day made for loving each other a little bit extra. So isn’t this the perfect day to spread God’s unconditional love? Put up compliments on every locker with notes shaped as hearts or bake some cupcakes for your class. There is so much you can do on Valentine’s Day. Check out this link to our Pinterest where we have a board with different Valentine’s Day ideas for you and your group.
