Another approach to activating your faith

An expression I often hear is "Activating oneself in one's faith" or "We must get better at practising our faith". It is a common place to end up as a Christian who carries a hunger for God, and what was once a fire may now be an ember. I think that “Activating oneself’s faith” can sometimes be the wrong approach.

I believe that as a human being, you constantly practice what you believe in. I don't think that the actual practice is what should be changed, where you as a person have to apply a certain method in order for your good faith to reach its goal. If you are a Christian, you already have everything you need, you don't need anything extraordinary or external to "activate your faith", but when you accept Jesus as Lord, you are invited to seek him and serve him with joy. What we should do is written, how we should pray is written and who God is is written. There is no article, sermon, or program that will take your faith and "activate" it. However, you can always grow in your faith and relationship with God. A good way to grow, in my experience, is to socialize with other Christians. Both in church, at home, in your spare time but also at school. Among Christians who together seek God's righteousness, the Holy Spirit guides. The guidance comes when we pray, read the Bible and surrender to him. In conclusion: We should not get better at practising our faith, we should nurture our faith so that it permeates what we constantly practice. I truly believe that if we seek God's kingdom first, boldness will arise and the rest will be added onto us, this applies to what we will get but also what we will give. New Generation wants to make this possible for students at school so that they can search for truth and love together, which can then be seen outwardly. It is our vision that the love of Jesus will be known in the school.

My encouragement to you reading this is to seek the truth. The truth about yourself, your problems and the truth about God. When you and I seek the truth about who we are, we find strengths and weaknesses. When we seek the actual truth about our problems, it will reveal what needs to change or at least what’s broken. When we seek the actual truth about God, we will find Jesus. Therefore seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these other things will be given to you as well (Matthew 6:33).
