Warm Outreach In Chilly Finland

Mikko together with his NG-group from Jyväskylä in Finland got a great idea for an outreach some years ago! They were 10-15 people in the group and all of them were very dedicated.

The group decided to knit a lot of mittens, so they ask for help their friends and family as well. 

They had set a goal that they were going to hand out 50 pairs of mittens but it became a lot more.

The NG-group put notes with Bible verses in the mittens and also information about the NG group and different churches in the area that organizes services for students.

On the 1st of December the group handed out mittens with cookies and different beverages. Also they arranged so that students could get a New Testament if they wanted. 

That day they handed out 150 pairs of mittens! 

People were very happy, surprised and grateful over the warm gift they got during this cold day and the group also had the opportunity to talk about the NG-group and why they were doing this. 

“ I was mostly moved about that each person who got a pair of mittens also got a unique message in the mittens” said Mikko who thought the outreach was very successful.
